Czech-German Bookmag
Smart reading from the heart of Europe
Summer & Autumn 2024
“Getting to know Prague was easy. One quickly feels familiar, discovers the city during beautiful walks, shares a common history and culture”. The words of Sonja Griegoschewski, a Berlin native and current director of the Goethe-Institut in Prague, who is also in charge of the other eight branches in the Central Europe region, set the tone for the current Czech-German Bookmag N&N, Issue 6, Summer/Autumn 2024.
An entertaining and inspiring read, the sixth issue of the magazine, exceptional in text and graphics, features stories of interesting personalities from the Czech Republic and Germany.
Among them are Francesca Kolowrat, a businesswoman and successor of a famous noble family, and Míla Fürstová, an award-winning Czech painter and graphic artist.
German MP Jörg Nürnberger, who travels to Bundestag meetings by train from his home in Prague. The second is the Minister for Regional Development, Ivan Bartoš, who focuses on digitalisation, climate change and Tik Tok.
Czech-German Bookmag N&N is published twice a year in Prague and Berlin. It is intended for Czechs who are interested in Germans, as well as for Germans with a relationship to Czechs. In its bilingual pages, readers from both countries can rediscover the intertwined Czech-German relations, past and present, through engaging personal stories.
